Sir D.B.Jayathilake Memorial Archives

Dharmaraja College Archives is named in memory of it's first principal Sir D.B.Jayathilaka. It is the location that preserve the college history, collect present information, for the reference for the future generations to come. It is established by the 79/80 group of old rajans and maintained by Dharamaraja College Archvies Foundation which is institutionalized and monitored by the Principal and patronized by the distinguishied old rajans and the Director, National Archives. The College Archives Association is responsible for collecting present information and organizing annual activities .

Photos are ready for purchaseAny photograph available in the Archives could be obtained by paying norminal price of Rs.500/-. It is designed with the college crest, name of the college and team, year and names of those who are present and also absent. If the names are not available, individual attention will be paid to complete the names once the order is placed. Together with the orders, donation of any amount big or small is highly appriciated as the maintenance of archives required large amount of money (See Sample Photo and Photos Ready Now ). 'Stall at Rajans Fair 2006 A stall was organized at the Rajans Fair 2006 held at the college premises. Collecting information of old boys' and teachers and popularizing the concept of archives is the main objectives of the stall. The stall had the display of photographs and computer network for data collection and information retrival.

Exhibition at 100th Big Match 2006A grand exhibition "Siyawasaka Watha" with available photos of Dharmaraja and Kingswood cricket teams was organized by the Archives Foundation at the Asgiriya Stadium Grand Stand on 21,22 April 2006. The exhibition was ceremonially opened by Mr.A.P Gunarathna (Fromer Principal) and the principals of Dharmaraja and Kingswood Mr S.M.Keerthirathne and Mr. Aberathne. Large number of students and old rajans visited the exhibition and chief guests for two days ministers Janaka Thennakoon and D.M.Jayarathna alos visited the exhibition.

Opening of Archives Ceremonial opening was held on 2002.11.28 10.28AM - auspicious time. The chief guest was Mr A.P.Gunarathna , former principal of the College.

Public Trustee Donate Rs. 200,000/- Public Trustee Mr. A.N.S.Senavirathne donated Rs.200,000 /- from Sir D.B.Jayathilake Trust. According to his last will Sir D,B has reserved allocation for Dharamaraja college and public trustee pledged to provide that donations to developemnt of the archives..

Ceremonial start of renovation 2001.10.26 Development work of Dharmarja College Archives and Museum is started by 6.00AM auspicious time. 'Nidhan Wasthu' was placed by 6.27pm. The principal students and old boy's were present at the occasion. Some of the participants handed over their donations to the principal. Total amount collected was about 100,000/=
